Battlefords RCMP officer involved in rollover on Highway #4
A male RCMP officer was involved in a single vehicle rollover on Thursday evening at approximately 6 p.m. on highway #4 at Cochin, SK.
An investigation determined that the rollover occurred while the on-duty RCMP officer with Battlefords Detachment was responding to a call in an unmarked police vehicle with emergency equipment activated.
The officer was immediately attended to on-scene by a member of the public, as well as the Meota and District Volunteer Fire Department, RM of North Battleford Volunteer Fire Department, EMS and Battlefords RCMP officers. The officer was then taken by ambulance to Saskatoon for treatment of serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
“Our detachment and all the units and employees who live and work in the Battlefords area are like family. We’ll continue to lean on each other in the days and weeks ahead as the injured member navigates recovery,” said Battlefords Detachment Commander Ryan How. “I want to recognize those who have extended gestures and words of kindness. These acts truly show the continued support we have from the communities we serve. Thank you.”
