Prairie North Co-op supporting regional libraries through Fuel Good Day

Local Co-op gas stations are once again participating in Fuel Good Day.

Back for its ninth year, Fuel Good Day sees a minimum of five cents per litre of fuel sold donated to local charities.

“This year we are pleased to announce that Prairie North Co-op, as we have done in past years, will match the five cents that Federated Co-op (FCL) donates,” said Prairie North Co-op Gas Bar Division manager, Keith Mamer.

“Regional libraries in the communities in which we have retail operations will benefit from fuel sold on September 16, as well as from the charity BBQs hosted at our gas bars that day. We will also donate one dollar from every Big Cool and Co-operative Coffee sold that day”.

Today (Tuesday), the gas bar in Melfort has been doing its best to sell as much fuel as possible to steadily increase the amount of funds that will be going to local libraries.

Since 2017, Prairie North Co-op has raised an average of $10,000 a year.

“Fuel Good Day is an important event each year for the CRS,” said Derek Wassermann, Director of Petroleum for FCL. “It’s been incredible to see the success and growth year after year, and we look forward to seeing what we can come together to do in 2025.”

Last year was record-breaking for Co-op, as more than $704,000 went to 200 organizations across Western Canada.

These gas bars will be closed at different times tonight, varying from 7-10 p.m.
