Wolverines add MJHL playoff MVP Timmerman
The Warman Wolverines have added goaltender Taye Timmerman as part of a reassignment from the Saskatoon Blades. The 2007-born goaltender, who played two pre-season games with the Blades, was recently signed to a WHL Scholarship and Development agreement.
Timmerman played 34 regular season games with the Northern Manitoba Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in 2024-25. The six-foot-one, 181-pound goaltender posted a record of 20-13-1 with a .908 save percentage and two shutouts along with a 2.60 goals against average. In the playoffs, Timmerman backstopped the Blizzard to the MJHL Turnbull Cup championship and was named the MVP of the playoffs with a 12-4 record and a .937 save percentage with one shutout.
The Wolverines are winless in their first three games of the 2025-26 SJHL season, with their most recent loss coming at the hands of the Battlefords North Stars by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday. The Wolverines visit the Kindersley Klippers on Friday at 7:30 p.m., where Timmerman is expected to make his first start in goal. Warman will then play host to Kindersley in their second home game of the season on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
