By-election nominations closing soon

Nominations for mayoral by-election in Tisdale closing on Wednesday

The Town of Tisdale’s mayoral race should be clear later this week.

Residents can still submit nomination forms at the Town Office at the RECplex through the end of the work day on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Those that have submitted nomination forms can still withdraw their nomination until 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9.

At least two candidates have indicated they are running in the mayoral race.

Long-time councillor Mike Hill and first-time councillor Dean Janzen have both publicly announced they will seek the mayor’s chair.

Roy Skoglund, who was elected mayor in the municipal election last fall, announced his resignation in August.

The advance poll in Tisdale will be held Nov. 8, while the election day is Nov. 12.
