A 45-year-old Prince Albert woman has been arrested in connection with a hit and run in August that killed another woman and seriously injured a man.

Prince Albert Police announced on Tuesday that charges were laid against Danielle Kitzan, who made her first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court this morning.

The collision happened on August 1 in the 1400 block of Second Avenue West just after 10 p.m.

A Prince Albert Police Service officer happened to be on patrol in the area and witnessed what he thought was a collision between a vehicle and two pedestrians.

He immediately went to the scene where he saw the two victims laying on the street with serious injuries.

Both Amy Lariviere, age 34 and Warren Dalton, age 56, were taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance. Lariviere passed away shortly afterwards.

The vehicle, which police allege was operated by Kitzan, left the scene after striking the two pedestrians.

Kitzan was charged with operating a vehicle that was in an accident that failed to stay at the scene, resulting in death and the same charge again, but resulting in injury.

There are no outstanding suspects in relation to this investigation and no further charges are anticipated.
