Creighton School Division signs up for provincial mental health building program
Mental health supports are coming to Creighton School Division.
The Government of Saskatchewan’s Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) program has expanded to the division. The program is designed to provide school staffing and other supports to promote student health and well-being.
The MHCB program is available in 20 school divisions across the province, including Creighton. The Ministry of Education has allocated $5.2 million for the school year to support mental health initiatives in schools, including $4.6 million for the MHCB program.
“On a recent visit to Creighton and Denare Beach, I asked community leaders what additional steps that the Ministry of Education could take to support the mental health needs of students,” Education Minister Everett Hindley said.
