It’s down to crunch time for high school football across the province.

Several local teams will be starting their playoff runs this weekend.

The defending provincial champion Melfort Comets look to continue their undefeated streak going as they host Moose Jaw Vanier in 4A nine-a-side on Saturday.

Melfort moved to 6-0 after a 25-22 win over Tisdale at home last Friday.

The Tornadoes were 4-2 this season, and they will travel to 5-0 Lumsden on Saturday.

Humboldt finished 4-1 during the regular season and will take on Foam Lake.

In six-aside 2A action, Wakaw will host Unity on Saturday, while Wynyard welcomes Clavet.

The 1A six-aside playoffs will also begin this weekend, as Carrot River travels to Biggar.
