Wolverines to wear pink uniforms for a cause

Oct 23, 2025 | 4:36 PM

The Warman Wolverines will be wearing pink uniforms as part of their annual Pink the Rink game on Friday, October 24, when they face off against the Melville Millionaires. The uniforms are part of a movement run by the Wolverines in a campaign to raise awareness or the battle against childhood cancer.

The team will take to the ice in specially designed pink jerseys which will subsequently be auctioned off following the game with all proceeds going to the oncology unit at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon.

Wolverines general manager and head coach Brett Pilkington is glad that the team is able to reach out in support of its community. “I think it’s awesome. I think it’s for a good cause and anytime we can support local charities that’s great,” he said.

The auction runs until 11:59 pm on October 25 and those interested can place their bids online at https://auctria.events/warmanwolverines.

The Wolverines are encouraging fans to come and show their support for young patients and families who are dealing with cancer in hopes that the community can help make a difference.

The Wolverines will take on the Melville Millionaires at 7 p.m. on Friday. Every Wolverines home and away game can be heard on SaskNow.com.
