Death of woman in Meadow Lake now deemed non-suspicious: RCMP

Dec 2, 2025 | 1:35 PM

Saskatchewan RCMP say a woman found dead in a Meadow Lake parking lot last week did not die under suspicious circumstances.

In an update issued Tuesday, RCMP Major Crimes said investigators, working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, have determined the death of the 29-year-old woman from Waterhen Lake First Nation is non-suspicious.

The clarification comes four days after police initially reported her death as suspicious.

The woman was found unresponsive around 8:50 a.m. on Nov. 28 in a parking lot near the junction of Highway 4 and First Avenue West in Meadow Lake.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her family was notified. Police said at the time that Major Crimes had taken over the investigation, with support from Meadow Lake RCMP, Police Dog Services and forensic officers from North Battleford.

RCMP now say no criminality is involved and no further details will be released in order to protect the privacy of the woman and those connected to the case.
