A community-led fundraising effort supporting the Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre in Prince Albert continues to heat up with the announcement of a $130,000 donation from the Prince Albert Elks Club.

In recognition of this contribution, the facility’s whirlpool has been named in honour of the club.

“The Prince Albert Elks Club has demonstrated an extraordinary, century-long commitment to the well-being of our community,” said Dawn Kilmer, city councillor and representative of the Play It Forward campaign. “Their generosity ensures that residents of all ages have a welcoming space to swim, relax, and connect.”

Since their founding on August 11, 1922, the Prince Albert Elks Club has been a cornerstone of the city, with members contributing decades of volunteer service and leadership.

The club has played a key role in supporting local initiatives, including the construction of community halls, assistance to seniors’ homes, hospital fundraising, and a wide range of charitable and recreational events.

Over the past week, multiple similar announcements have been made including $75,000 from Lehner Electric and $100,000 from Cornerstone Insurance.
