Nipawin Dollarama hit by vehicle

Vehicle crashes into Nipawin Dollarama

The Nipawin Fire Department had a record number of calls in 2025, and it’s also been a busy start to 2026.

Crews were called after a vehicle crashed into the Dollarama building just after midnight Jan. 2.

“Investigations and inspections were ongoing all day long and it was determined prudent to shut down both the building and a portion of the street as a precaution until an engineering report can conclusively determine the structure’s safety,” the department posted on social media.

There is no word yet on what caused that crash, and RCMP are investigating.
