Police arrest La Ronge man featured on RCMP most wanted list

La Ronge RCMP have arrested a man featured on the force’s provincial most wanted list.
An investigation determined on Jan. 6 two adult individuals were at a residence in Sucker River when they were forced into a vehicle by an armed man, who threatened and assaulted them. The victims were able to escape and did not report physical injuries to police.
Following a report of the crime on Jan. 7, officers arrested 35-year-old Cory Halkett from La Ronge and charged him with 16 offences, including robbery and kidnapping with a firearm.
He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Jan. 15.
