La Ronge RCMP investigate reports of people wearing clothing associated with hate group

La Ronge RCMP officers were called around 9:15 p.m. on June 29 about several individualswalking around the La Ronge area dressed in clothing associated with promoting hate.

RCMP said officers patrolled the area in an effort to locate the group but were unabe to find them.

Photos and videos that appeared to show at least one person dressed in clothing resembling that of the Ku Klux Klan circulated widely on social media following the incident. Numerous commenters condemned the actions, describing them as offensive and inappropriate.

RCMP have not confirmed the identities of those involved or released details about any potential offences under investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact La Ronge RCMP by calling 310-RCMP. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online.

The investigation is ongoing.
