‘Lost for words’: Third annual Mental Health Classic hockey tournament sees record turnout
Pint-sized hockey players were given a crash course in skill development over the weekend at Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon.
The skills weren’t related to their on-ice play, however, as the players learned how to address and promote mental wellness and received education around mental health awareness.
The 2026 Mental Health Classic is now in the books for co-organizers D Jay McGrath and Mitch Berg, with the charity tournament seeing record attendance this year.
“It’s our first year we’ve sold out the tournament,” McGrath said.
