Art Dagenais’ court battles continue
The legal battles continue for Art Dagenais, the father of convicted Mountie killer Curtis Dagenais.
He had a court date in Prince Albert on Tuesday in relation to firearms charges that were laid last year following a search of his property by RCMP.
Last week, the warrant used in the search was deemed unconstitutional by a judge, meaning all evidence obtained as a result of the search would be inadmissible.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, the crown laid out their intention to try Dagenais anyway. When the judge began to discuss a date for the trial, Dagenais stood up in the gallery and said “I object to that, this can’t go on much longer.”
