Sask. Party to select new leader Jan. 27
The Saskatchewan Party will elect its new leader at a convention in Saskatoon on Jan. 27 in a one-member, one-vote voting system, according to a news release Saturday afternoon.
The news comes after a meeting of the provincial council, according to the release, which also included a list of leadership campaign rules.
The nomination filing deadline for candidates will be Nov. 24, with a filing fee of $25,000 from each candidate. The membership sales deadline for voting eligibility is Dec. 8, to ensure adequate time for those who request a mail-in ballot to receive one.
Campaign expense limits have been capped at $250,000. Candidates will also be required to disclose the names of donors who make campaign donations of $250 or more.
