Police arrest dangerous drivers over the weekend
Prince Albert police pulled over two separate drivers over the weekend, leading to arrests and multiple charges.
Police attempted to pull-over a vehicle with expired plates on Saturday, but the driver refused to stop. Police followed the vehicle north on Second Ave. W. It picked up speed driving down the hill, losing control and crashing into a street sign at the intersection of 15th St. W.
The driver was arrested and brought back to the cells where he subsequently failed a breathalyzer test. The 41-year-old man from Ahtahkakoop First Nation is charged with multiple offenses including operating a motor vehicle while impaired, and failing to stop a vehicle in order to evade a peace officer.
The suspect will make their first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
