A fire east of the Moosomin First Nation, which is about 30 kilometres north of North Battleford, burned into the night.

An eye witness said the fire broke out before noon on Thursday. It appeared under control at one point during the day but the high winds, which were blowing away from the Resort Village of Cochin, fanned the flames.

It is not yet known if any structures were damaged or the size of the blaze.
