Man who threatened school sentenced to probation
The 18-year-old man convicted of uttering threats toward Tisdale Middle and Secondary School (TMSS) was sentenced to 15 months of probation.
Jarad Tiedjens appeared for sentencing in Tisdale Provincial Court on Tuesday, June 4. Along with the probationary sentence, Judge Lloyd Stang handed Tiedjens a seven-year firearms suspension.
The charges stem back from an incident in Tisdale on the morning of Sept. 27 when threatening comments toward TMSS were written on social media. The school was placed in a hold and secure during the morning while police investigated.
