Hundreds attend annual Napatak Ramble festival near La Ronge
The seventh-annual Napatak Ramble near La Ronge delivered two days of musical festivities for residents of all ages.
“I think we set another bar this year as far as making the event more mature and professional,” said Artistic Director Colin Jolly. “There are so many people in the community stepping up and adding their creative spin to what they want to do, and it was great.”
The festival began Friday with the new addition of a kids camp during the day, where musicians worked with children to develop a song and perform it for the audience. Friday was also when the majority of local bands took to the stage with the exception of Bombargo, who was that day’s headlining act. All other out-of-town bands including the Eliza Mary Doyle Trio, Hinterland, Nathaniel Fisher, and Piper and Carson performed Saturday.
In total, Jolly estimates between 400 to 500 people attended Napatak Ramble during the two days. He also noted an arts market and food booth was on-site, adding there were several different activities attendees could enjoy.
