Scheer and Vidal make campaign stop in M.L.

In a media discussion, Scheer said the federal government would look at ways to ensure value is added on agricultural and forestry products and would speak on more specifics during the campaign election.

Vidal said people are encouraged by Scheer’s message and their tour through Saskatchewan has been positive.

“We were absolutely encouraged by the enthusiasm and the number of people that showed up at each of these places to show their support for Andrew and for us in our riding,” Vidal said.

Scheer said his Conservative candidate, Vidal, will work hard to regain the trust of voters in the Desnethé-Missinippi-Churchill River riding.

“I know he’s a hardworking entrepreneur and he’s got great experience on the accounting side,” Scheer said. “After four years of Liberal government we need some more accountants and people who actually know how to add up numbers. It will be great to have him.”

Vidal expects the upcoming fall election to be a tight race. He is running against Liberal candidate Tammy Cook-Searson and NDP candidate Georgina Jolibois, returns for another term in the riding.

“We have nothing but admiration and respect for the work that Georgina and Tammy have done in their respective roles and history,” Vidal said. “We knew it was going to be a battle but we believe in our message and we believe the positive message for Canada that Andrew’s talking about is going to pay off and we are going to work hard to get it done.”

The federal election is scheduled for October 21.
