PAGC assists with search for missing man
The last known whereabouts of a man from Stony Rapids was a densely wooded area south of Prince Albert, and that’s where a search team was seen Friday.
paNOW has learned the Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) Emergency Management unit was asked to help look for Travis MacDonald, who was last seen early Monday morning. PAGC Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte said their team will not give up.
“Even if the [RCMP] calls off the search effort, we’ll continue because we care about our members and we want to help out the family,” Hardlotte said.
MacDonald is from Stony Rapids, and a member of the Black Lake Dene Nation — part of PAGC, which is why the organization promptly answered the call to help with the search effort. Hardlotte said the search area is very challenging, a mix of farmland, sloughs and forest.
