Little Caesars opening in Air Ronge

Well-known pizza chain Little Caesars will be opening a location in Air Ronge in the near future.

That’s according to franchise owner Dimpy Walia, who confirmed renovations are currently underway at a building in Air Ronge on Highway 2. Little Caesars will be located next to Speedy Glass and Walia expects the restaurant to open by the end of August at the earliest. In April, she and her husband opened another Little Caesars location in Melfort.

“It’s been pretty good. People like it,” Walia said. “It’s a good price and the products are really good. That why we wanted to open up in Air Ronge now, too.”

Walia also decided to open a location in Air Ronge because of her experience operating a business in the tri-communities. She’s the former owner of Subway in La Ronge before it was sold to another franchisee last year. In all, Walia is looking to hire approximately six to 10 staff, noting hours of operation during the summer will be from 11 a.m. to midnight.

“Please do come and visit us,” she said. “We want to serve everyone in a perfectly good manner and everyone is going to love the quality of the products, too.”

La Ronge and District Chamber of Commerce President Crystal Everest stated any new businesses coming to the tri-communities means growth and economic success. She added it will offer residents more food options, employment, taxes for the local municipality and it will strengthen existing businesses. Everest also mentioned it’s nice to see the restaurant open in Air Ronge considering the village doesn’t have many businesses.

As the owner of KFC in La Ronge, Everest stated Little Caesars is a sign of vitality and longevity for other entrepreneurs. She said Walia recognized the potential in the region for another food service.

“The issue with a lot of franchises is when they look at the North, they don’t look at the economic potential, growth of branding and even sales,” Everest said. “At the end of the day, they look at demographic population numbers and it’s too bad because there’s a huge opportunity.”

With more than 5,400 locations around the world in 2017, Little Caesars is the third-largest pizza chain in the United States and is growing in Canada.
