Man with outstanding warrants arrested near Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation

A 24-year-old man wanted on several charges was arrested by RCMP near Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation.

At around 1 p.m. on July 29, RCMP stopped a vehicle in between the Cree Nation and the town of Loon Lake. The suspect then ran from the vehicle.

The man was later located in a house near the Cree Nation and arrested.

Two canine units, one from Lloydminster and one from North Battleford, assisted in searching for the man.

The man was wanted by Pierceland RCMP for several charges including possession of stolen property, possession of weapons and failing to comply with a judge’s orders.

The man is scheduled to appear Thursday in Meadow Lake provincial court.
