Valley Ford in Hague re-opens Monday

The Valley Ford dealership in Hague appears to be a total loss after it went up in flames earlier this week.

But general manager Kevin Adams said they have decided to rebuild.

“As of right now, yes, we’re rebuilding on our current location,” Adams said in an interview with News Talk Radio. “None of us have ever had to experience anything like this so there’s a lot of things that have to be done and planning on how to move forward.”

Right now, there are a few walls standing amongst a sea of charred rubble. The dealership was halfway done months of renovations when it burned to the ground Wednesday.

But Adams said he’s looking on the bright side.

“Now that that’s no longer an option we have the freedom to make any changes that we’d like to.”

Only one vehicle was lost in the blaze because it was on a hoist in the shop at the time.

“Every other vehicle was outside of the building, we were able to move them away from the building,” Adams said.

Today, Adams said technicians have volunteered to wash all the soot off the vehicles so that business can resume.

Adams said the sales department will be on-site Monday morning, working out of trailer for the time being. Although the investigation is not complete yet, RCMP said the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
