Millers Market opens second location in St. Benedict

A new business has opened its doors in St. Benedict, Sask.

Millers Market is officially open in the village after much success with the same store in Pilger. The market is described as a grocery store, coffee shop, and soon to be diner by Manager Elaine Miller. She called it a “great gathering place” as well with groups going there for coffee and cards.

Miller said there was a great opportunity for them to take over a previous business in Pilger that has now turned into Millers Market.

“We just saw this one for sale,” Miller told northeastNOW. “And thought it was a perfect fit. I just had my knees replaced and hadn’t been able to work and now they’re ready to go. My kids are older. Why not?”

She added they decided to open the one in St. Benedict because there are lots of customers who travel from St. Benedict to go to the Pilger location.

“We figured there was an empty building available. We had a really good opportunity to take it over,” Miller said. “And we thought ‘why not?’ It’s for our customers.”

Millers Market is also a big proponent of the shop local and support local initiatives. Miller said supplying and supporting local helps foster community support.

“We want to buy local produce, we want to buy local meat,” she said. “The community supports us so therefore we can support the community.”

Anyone with local product is able to get involved by calling Miller or going to the stores in Pilger or St. Benedict.

The new location is on Centre Street in St. Benedict.
