Pedestrian dead after being struck by taxi in La Ronge
A 24-year-old man is dead after he was struck by a taxi cab Sept. 28 in La Ronge.
That’s according to an RCMP news release, which stated the fatal collision occurred just after midnight along Highway 2 near Keethanow Bingo North in La Ronge. Upon arrival, an adult male was located by officers and EMS in the southbound lane with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital where he was declared deceased.
RCMP stated the taxi was driving southbound and struck the male who was walking along the highway. The road was restricted for several hours while members conducted an investigation with the assistance of the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and a RCMP forensic reconstructionist.
The investigation is still ongoing.
