Advance polls in the region busy in 2019

The numbers are in from Elections Canada, and voting early continues to gain popularity in Saskatchewan.

Just over 149,000 people voted in advance polls in this election, up from 91,891 in 2015.

That is a 62 per cent increase from the previous election.

The Prince Albert constituency saw 9,586 people use the advance polls, up 46 per cent from 2015.

In Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek, which includes Humboldt, there was a 55 per cent increase in advance votes, with 11,524 people casting their ballots early.

And in the Yorkton-Melville constituency, 7,612 people voted early, a 32 per cent increase from the 2015 total.
