One man dead, another seriously injured after shooting incident

Two adult males were transported to the hospital as a result of a shooting incident today in the Mikisiw residential area on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
According to a media release from La Ronge RCMP, the EMS found the two males injured. One male was pronounced dead on arrival and the other treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service in Saskatoon will perform an autopsy on the deceased male on Friday morning.
After the initial investigation, police believe it may not be a random incident. The investigation will continue with La Ronge RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP specialized units which include North Battleford Police Dog Services, Prince Albert Forensic Identification Services and Major Crimes Unit.
For an unknown time, the residential area on Mikisiw Drive will be blocked off.
