Saskatchewan RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in finding more information about a recent homicide on a Lac La Ronge Indian Band reserve.

According to an RCMP press release, at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 21, several shots were fired into a camper/motorhome parked next to a residence on Mikisiw Drive. The vehicle contained five males including 26-year-old Jeremy Bird, who was killed during the incident. RCMP stated an autopsy conducted last week determined his death to be a homicide.

The RCMP is looking for assistance from the public who may have been in the area of the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre or Mikisiw Drive on the evening of Nov. 20 to the early morning of Nov. 21.

Police continue to speak with people on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and nearby communities of Air Ronge and La Ronge. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit North continues to investigate with assistance from Prince Albert Forensic Identification Services, La Ronge RCMP and Saskatchewan Digital Forensic Services Unit.
