Fire in Melfort’s south end destroys garage

Melfort Fire responded to a structure fire near Melfort St. and Conley Ave. early on Saturday.

First responders discovered a small, single car detached garage fully involved with fire.

One truck parked close to the garage did sustain significant damage, although the fire didn’t spread to nearby homes. One firefighter reported an injury from the scene.

The garage was deemed to be a total loss. The fire is not deemed to be suspicious.
