Drinking water advisory, care home restriction in Wadena

Jan 30, 2020 | 10:33 AM

A precautionary drinking water advisory is in effect in Wadena.

According to the town’s website, the advisory is due to a well pump failure. That has led to a restriction of water being treated and elevated turbidity.

Residents are asked to boil water for at least a minute before use.

Meanwhile, the Pleasant View Care Home in Wadena remains closed to visitors for the time being.

An outbreak of respiratory illness is the cause for the closure. However, the hospital portion remains open during this time.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority hopes the closure contains the illness and prevents it from spreading further.
