Fatal crash north of Prince Albert

A fatal crash on Highway 2 north of Prince Albert has forced its closure in both directions.

It happened approximately 1 mile north of White Star Road around 1:30 p.m.

As of 4:15 p.m. RCMP said detours were in place.

Police said it appears a vehicle was in the wrong lane, headed into traffic and collided with another vehicle. Police are on scene. One person died and another has been hospitalized.

Prince Albert RCMP is asking the public to please avoid the area and said the closure would be in effect for at least four hours.
