May 23, 2020 | 1:05 PM

Two scholarships worth $1,000 are up for grabs for graduating students this year.

The Prince Albert & District Community Scholarship Fund is accepting nominations for the Tillie and Joe Kawula Scholarship, as well as the Hershel Davidner Memorial Scholarship. The deadline for nominations is June 30.

Tillie Kawula was an outstanding community volunteer and Citizen of the Year. For over 25 years this scholarship has provided help to local high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education.

Hershel Davidner’s Clothing and Western Wear Ltd. family business was owned and operated in Prince Albert for over 70 years. During those years, Davidner donated greatly to students through scholarships in post-secondary education. He passed away in 2013.

Graduating students from Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division, Prince Albert Roman Catholic School Division, and Academic Grade 12 students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic Prince Albert Campus are eligible for the scholarship.

Note that three letters of reference are required as well as a resume. Information and application forms are available from all high schools.
