Local residents are coming together to show 2020 graduates their effort hasn’t gone unnoticed.

The Town of La Ronge currently has two promotions underway to celebrate this year’s graduating class including a draw and video project. The draw is open to all local graduates, who should send an email to Community Programmer Avyn Koyl at programmer@laronge.ca with your name, number and school to be included. There’s a range of prizes available to be won and sponsors include the local municipality, Michelle Hopper, Roxanne Hunt, Alayna Calladine and Susan Moosewaypayo.

“We just want them to know we support them, the town is behind them and we are really proud of them,” Koyl said. “They would be able to use the gift certificates when the social distancing has been lifted and it would be safe for them to do so.”

All entries for the draw must be submitted by June 18 at 1 p.m. The draw will be held the following day.

As for the video project, Koyl is asking residents to send her a short clip with a congratulatory message for the graduates. The video should be between 10 to 30 seconds and those who email one should begin by introducing who they are. All videos should be submitted by June 15, then Koyl will then post all the videos on Facebook for the public to see.

“We can show our grads we truly are thinking of them, we are very proud of them and we wish them all the best,” she said.

There’s also a third promotion underway in honour of Father’s Day. La Ronge’s Dairy Queen Grill and Chill has donated an ice cream cake and Koyl is giving it away through a draw. Submissions are due by June 17 and the cake will be awarded June 18.

“If anyone has a dad out there who wants to win an ice cream cake, send me an email and tell me something great about dad and I’ll put you in the draw to win the cake,” she said.
