Aug 16, 2020 | 9:05 AM

Residents of Prince Albert and surrounding area are being reminded to buckle up and be on their best behaviour behind the wheel this week.

The Prince Albert Police Service has announced plans to host a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) blitz on Aug.19 and Aug. 20.

Police members from across Saskatchewan will be working alongside partner agencies to identify traffic violations and take enforcement action at various locations around Prince Albert.

Enforcement activities will focus on offences related to speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt use, unlicensed drivers and commercial vehicle standards.

STEP is a multi-agency task force dedicated to improving traffic safety across Saskatchewan. Members include municipal police agencies, the RCMP, Saskatchewan Highway Patrol (SHP), Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Police, and representatives from SGI and the Ministries of Justice and Finance.
