Another business is enforcing a mandatory mask policy for customers and staff.

Starting August 29, all No Frills stores including the North Battleford location will require people to wear face-masks when inside the store as a COVID-19 precaution.

No Frills encourages customers who cannot wear a mask to consider ordering their groceries online through PC Express instead, and pick them up at their local store.

According to No Frills, the mandatory mask policy aims to keep customers and staff safe by reducing the transmission of COVID-19.

Walmart also currently has a mandatory mask policy in effect.

Battlefords Chamber of Commerce Chief Operating Officer Linda Machniak said many businesses these days are looking at what is best for their establishment.

“To have made that decision I think it is an important one for each business to evaluate the level of risk that they see in their own place, and to be able to keep people safe,” she said.

Machniak said she is noticing more organizations are looking at the potential of having some type of mask policy in effect.

“The step forward that both of the school divisions have made to make masks a part of the school system going into the fall, those decisions are being made carefully, and and by many sectors,” she said.
