La Ronge will have a new mayor after the 2020 municipal election Nov. 9.
Current Mayor Ron Woytowich will not be running for re-election leaving four candidates in the race for the top spot on council. According to a list of candidates provided by Returning Officer Allyson Richards, the candidates for mayor are Tracy Fiske, Deputy-Mayor Matthew Klassen, Colin Ratushniak and Coun. Glen Watchel.
Nine others are running for a spot on council including Brett Angus, Abby Besharah, Jow Hordyski, Cheryl Jeffries, Coun. Jordan McPhail, Christopher Merasty, Viviana Ruiz, Ryan Veteri and Coun. Hugh Watt. Coun. Rex McPhail and Coun. Dallas Everest decided not to run for re-election.
