Stanley Mission residents locked down, curfew in place due to COVID-19 cases
A 10 p.m. curfew and large-scale lockdown is in place in Stanley Mission after six positive cases of coronavirus were confirmed Friday.
That’s according to a public service announcement, which noted Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) council, administration, health care and the emergency control group are working as quickly and as efficiently as possible to contain the number of cases in Stanley Mission.
“As expected, many community members are experiencing stress and anxiety due to the threat of COVID-19 in our community,” the release states. “Mental health supports are available and we encourage you to call an on-call mental health therapist to provide emotional and mental support if needed [at] 1-306-425-9518.”
Effective at 3:30 p.m., local residents are not allowed to leave Stanley Mission and only essential services personnel will be allowed in and out. The release adds non-community members will not be allowed in and only those with proof of a medical appointment will be allowed to leave and return. House parties will also not be tolerated.
