Jan 11, 2021 | 12:57 PM

The Prince Albert Council of Women has put a call out for nominations of a well deserving woman who demonstrates dedication and compassion to the community.

Each year, a local woman is honoured with an induction into the Prince Albert Women’s Hall of Fame.

In a press release, Patricia Leson, President of the Prince Albert Council of Women said: “There are many dedicated and compassionate women in Prince albert who deserve acknowledgement. The Prince Albert Council of Women is honoured to recognize one deserving woman every year on International Women’s Day.”

The nominee will have contributed to the community in more than one area with a varied range of contributions. Consideration will be given to their length of service in volunteer roles, workplace accomplishments and demonstrated leadership. The work must benefit the Prince Albert community, but contributions may have also had an impact provincially, nationally or internationally. The nominee does not have to be involved in the work of the Prince Albert Council of women and anyone can make a nomination. Nominations can also be made posthumously.

Previous inductees include Laura Quesnel (2020), Dr. Barbara Gustafson (2016) and Rhonda Meakin (2013).

The induction ceremony will take place in March in honour of International Women’s Day. The nomination deadline is Feb. 13, 2021.
