After being on the run for nearly three months, the Meadow Lake RCMP has located and captured attempted murder suspect Jonathon Iron from Meadow Lake. While the update comes as a positive, police are still searching for another suspect, Christopher Nolan.

Nolan is said to be armed and dangerous. Police are advising the public to avoid approaching Nolan and immediately contact 911 if he is sighted.

Earlier this year, officers responded to several reports of guns being fired at a car on Cochin Avenue in Meadow Lake. Emergency services reported they found one man on scene with injuries. The man was taken to a hospital in Saskatoon where he received treatment. Officials stated a white car on site collided with a power pole, was on fire and had bullet holes in it. The incident is believed to be gang-related.

After months of investigation, police were able to locate track down and apprehend Jonathon Iron at a Meadow Lake residence on April 16. Iron has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. His bail hearing has been set for May 3.

S/Sgt. Ryan How, Meadow Lake RCMP Detachment Commander, stated while some may believe locating one of the individuals took longer than expected, police were working to effectively complete a thorough investigation.

“Complex investigations take time. Throughout the past three months, police experts were working diligently to gather evidence, bring forth charges and locate and arrest the individuals responsible. We are dedicated to making our communities safer and having charges laid in serious files like this is one way we strive to do just that,” How explained.

Anyone with information regarding Nolan’s location is asked to contact the Meadow Lake RCMP at 306-236-2570 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
