Waterline work in Melfort this week may result in water discoloration

May 4, 2021 | 11:50 AM

Flow testing is being performed on water distribution lines in Melfort this week.

City of Melfort crews will also be flushing some of the water lines on the north end of the city.

Director of development, planning, and community relations Brent Lutz told northeastNOW the work may stir up some sediment in the lines and some minor discoloration in water may be experienced.

“We don’t expect this to be significant or of serious concern,” Lutz said. “If you do experience a significant amount of discoloration, you can certainly call city hall.”

The city will send someone to test water to ensure it is safe, if significant discoloration is experienced. City hall can be contacted Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at (306) (306) 752-5911.

“The work should start on Wednesday and carry on throughout the rest of the week,” Lutz said.
