Celebrating World Children Day
Since 1950, World Children Day, is celebrated on 1 June. The focal point, along with several other universal dates, was created to recognize the rights of the world’s children and foster their needs as they become the community leaders of tomorrow.
For the past eleven years the High Noon Optimist Club has provided a pizza lunch for all students / staff for a local school. The HN Club procures the pizzas and gives these, free of charge, to the school.
HN Club members provide all necessary condiments and beverages along with prepared salads for the noon meal.
Particular attention has been paid to recognize dietary restrictions, cultural background and individual student needs. The HN Club works with principals, teachers and parents to make this a sharing community event for the participants.
