Deceased individual located on Mirond Lake in northeast Sask.

UPDATE: As of 2:10 p.m. on July 9, the RCMP have identified the individual as a 25-year-old man from Pelican Narrows. His family has been notified.

Through an investigation with the Sask. RCMP and the Sask. Coroners Service, pending final results from the autopsy and toxicology, police believe foul play was not involved in the death of the man.

Pelican Narrows RCMP received a complaint of a deceased individual located on Mirond Lake near the bridge entering Pelican Narrows on Tuesday afternoon.

A police officer was taken to where the individual was located by a member of the public and officers on the RCMP boat were able to remove the person from the lake.

The identity of the individual has not been confirmed and an autopsy will take place. Police said no other information about the individual is being released at this time.

Pelican Narrows RCMP, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, continue to investigate.
