Ballantyne promoted to principal at Gordon Denny
Marlina Ballantyne is the new principal at Air Ronge’s Gordon Denny Community School.
Ballantyne has been an educator since completing a Bachelor of Education degree from the Northern Teacher Education Program in 2003. That same year, she joined Northern Lights School Division as a teacher at Gordon Denny and spent time as the vice-principal between 2009 to 2013, and again during the 2020-2021 academic year.
“I just was looking for a new challenge,” Ballantyne said. “I want to spend the rest of my career at Gordon Denny. I just felt I was ready to move into a leadership role.”
Ballantyne replaces Scott Hepworth, who resigned as principal after accepting a position in Stanley Mission. The new vice-principal at Gordon Denny is Tammy Robinson.
