Kiddie Korner Playschool hosting second annual auction

Melfort’s Kiddie Korner Playschool’s second annual auction is underway.

Local businesses and members of the community have donated items in an effort to raise funds for the playschool.

Fundraising coordinator, Lisa Burke, told northeastNOW the auction is to help with operating costs.

“All proceeds are going to help run our program, get them to do some field trips or just their much needed supplies they go through everyday. Keep our costs down for the families,” Burke said.

The online auction idea was brought on due to the pandemic according to Burke.

Previous fundraisers have included partnerships with RJ’s Urban Garden Café and a partnership with M&M Food Market.

Kiddie Korner Playschool provides programs that help kids get ready to go to school.

“We have programs for 3- and 4-year-olds. During those programs they teach them the educational and personal skills to get them ready for kindergarten,” Burke said.

The program is located in the United Church Basement. The class schedules vary depending on the age of the child.

Additional details on the preschool can be found on their Facebook page.

Items up for auction include clothing, hotel stay vouchers, gift cards to businesses around Melfort and much more. All items have a starting bid of $5 and will increase by increments of $2 until the end of the auction.

“People can go to the Facebook page and the auction is under Kiddie Korner Playschool auction 2021,” Burke said.

The auction began on Sept. 19 at noon and will run until Sept. 24 at 5:59 p.m. Bids placed at after 5:59pm will not be counted towards the item.

Winners of the auction will be tagged in the comments of the item they bid on.

Pickup for all items will be on Sept. 27 from noon until 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the same day.
