Stars best first place Mustangs 4-1 in Melfort
The Battlefords North Stars snapped their two game skid, topping the league-leading Mustangs 4-1 Wednesday night in Melfort.
Goaltender, Ulrik Roussel led the way with 33 saves on 34 shots, while Steven Kesslering scored a goal and an assist, Easton Rask notched the first of his career, and Colby Bear and Jake Southgate also scored for the team.
For Bear, the goal served as his third over his last three games, while Southgate’s sixth moves him into sole possession of the team lead in goals, while his 13 points are tied with Kesslering for the team best.
At the other end, Melfort’s Seth McCulloch’s fifth of the year was his team’s only goal in the loss, while Joel Favreau stopped 35 of 38 shots against in the Mustangs’ defeat.
