The La Ronge Regional Fire Department was called to the scene of a house fire Friday in Bell’s Point.

According to fire chief Keaton Cloud, the call came in at 12:20 p.m. and firefighters were at the location eight minutes later. He noted the house has been declared a total loss due to roof collapse.

“Fire made its way into the attic space, which took only minutes for the entire roof to become compromised,” Cloud said. “When the fire engine arrived on scene, it was already fully involved and it was a defensive attack fighting the fire from the outside for firefighter safety because of the threat of collapse.”

He added the blaze remains under investigation but is not considered suspicious in nature. Everyone made it out of the house and firefighters were at the location for two-and-a-half hours.
