Man dead after being struck by highway vehicle

Loon Lake RCMP are investigating an incident on Highway 699 on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
Police received a report Sunday evening that the pedestrian, a 27 year-old male, had been struck by a vehicle. He was declared deceased at the scene by EMS and his family has been notified.
The investigation so far has determined a westbound vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was walking on the side of the road. The driver remained at the scene and called for emergency services.
Loon Lake RCMP will continue investigating with an RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist.
