A new forward is now calling the Elgar Petersen Arena home.

The Broncos have acquired Alex Morozoff from the Nanaimo Clippers but he is originally from Saskatoon, Sask. The 2001-born 6 foot, 190 pound power forward spent four years in the Western Hockey League (WHL) prior to joining the Clippers this season and accumulated 172 games while putting up 27 goals and 18 assists for 45 points.

He was a member of the Saskatoon Blades in the shortened 2020-21 season.

“Alex is a player we were very surprised came available to us, we are very excited to bring him in. We believe he will help our team in all three areas, 5v5, powerplay and penalty Kill, we have heard nothing but great things about his character and tenacity as a player, and person. A few of our players already have a strong relationship with Alex,” general manager and head coach Scott Barney said.

Morozoff was a second overall bantam draft pick to Humboldt in 2016, that same year he was also picked by the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels in the seventh round. Alex played one and a half seasons of midget with the Saskatoon Contacts before joining the Red Deer Rebels halfway through the season.
